We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in piping systems for our chemical processing plant. The candidate will be responsible for the design, engineering, installation, and maintenance of piping systems used in process operations, ensuring they meet industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
About the Role:
Develop and review
piping designs
,
layouts
, and
isometric drawings
based on P&IDs and process requirements.
Select appropriate
materials
and
components
for piping systems considering corrosion, pressure, temperature, and chemical compatibility.
Perform
stress analysis
and ensure compliance with ASME, ANSI, API, and other relevant standards.
Collaborate with process engineers, project managers, and other departments for seamless integration of piping in plant operations.
Prepare and evaluate
technical specifications
,
BOQs
, and
vendor drawings
for piping equipment and systems.
Supervise piping fabrication, installation, and testing at site (hydro test, pneumatic test, etc.).
Conduct
root cause analysis
and troubleshoot piping issues during commissioning and operation.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with
environmental, health, and safety (EHS)
guidelines.
Work closely with contractors and third-party inspectors during project execution.
About You:
Bachelor's degree
in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
8-10 years
of experience in piping engineering, preferably in a
chemical or process plant
environment.
Strong understanding of
P&ID
,
pipe routing
,
supports
, and
stress analysis
.
Proficient in using design software like
AutoCAD
,
Plant 3D
,
Caesar II
, or equivalent.
Familiar with codes and standards:
ASME B31.3
,
ANSI
,
API
,
TEMA
, etc.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of
hazardous area classifications
and safe design practices in chemical plants.
