1. Role Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for end-to-end execution of static process equipment projects, including bill of material extraction, material procurement planning, vendor coordination, production follow-up, client communication, and weekly progress reporting. The role ensures that all deliverables (design, fabrication, QA, dispatch, documentation) are completed as per project timelines and quality requirements.
Extract BOM from drawings, QAP, P&IDs, GA drawings, and fabrication sketches.
Verify grades, thicknesses, welding consumables, and bought-out items.
Material Requirement Planning
Prepare detailed Material Requirement Sheets (MRS).
Identify long-lead items and critical purchased components.
Sequence of Ordering
Prepare procurement sequence based on project schedule (plates ? pipes ? fittings ? flanges ? nozzles ? internals ? accessories ? paint/insulation items).
Ensure timely PR generation and follow up with Purchase Team.
Review of Drawings & Documents
Coordinate with Engineering for approval of GA drawings, Detail drawings, Nozzle schedules, Welding maps, NDT plans, and datasheets.
B. Internal Coordination
Production Coordination
Release shop drawings to fabrication.
Conduct daily follow-ups on cutting, rolling, fit-up, welding, NDT, internal inspections, and hydro/pneumatic tests.
Ensure adherence to WPS, PQR, and QAP.
Quality & Inspection Coordination
Schedule QC hold points with internal QA and with clients/TPI.
Ensure documentation is completed before final release (MTC, WPS/PQR/WPQ, NDT reports, calibration, hydro-test reports).
Logistics & Dispatch Coordination
Work with logistics team for packing, transport, lashing arrangements.
Prepare final DCR and checklist before dispatch.
C. External Coordination
Client Coordination
Act as the single point of contact for project status, inspections, and approval loops.
Attend client review meetings physically or online.
Vendor Coordination
Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of bought-out items.
Inspection callouts to suppliers based on QAP.
D. Reporting
Weekly Reports
Prepare and submit weekly progress reports (WPR) including:
Material status
Fabrication progress
Inspection updates
Pending points
Delay risks and mitigation
Maintain project trackers and minutes of meeting (MoM).
Cost & Time Monitoring
Monitor consumption of materials vs BOM.
Flag deviations early.
3. Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
Knowledge of static equipment: storage tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, silos, reactors, columns.
Ability to read fabrication drawings, P&IDs, isometrics.
Understanding of welding, NDT, painting, and hydro testing.
Basic knowledge of ASME Sec VIII / API / IS standards.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and client-handling ability.
Time management and ability to work under tight schedules.
Problem-solving mindset.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering.
1-4 years experience in fabrication projects (freshers can be trained).
Experience in heavy fabrication / static equipment preferred.

Adherence to project timelines.
Zero rework from BOM removal errors.
Vendor delivery performance.
Inspection and quality closure without NCRs.
Weekly reporting accuracy & timeliness.

Pay: ?395,544.27 - ?600,000.00 per year
