Job Description

Kriti is a not for profit organisation that promotes skills training and livelihoods for women and education of children. We work in the slums in Hyderabad. Kriti has a number of centres where training on skills such as tailoring and beautician is given to women. Through this training, we enable women to learn new skills and become eligible for income generations.

We have four training centres for tailoring training courses under Project Milan at Vattepally, Suraram, Bhoiguda and Shyamlal. We are running beautician training program at Bhoiguda, Tolichowki, Tukaramgate and Talabkatta. Over 500 women every year receive free vocational training through Kriti and we look forward to helping the women start earning income through the program. Kriti also plans to launch a new vertical under vocational training for women - mobile repair training.

The full-time project coordinator will lead delivery of the project deliverables as per the annual plan. They will have two members reporting to them to help lead the field activities, placement activities and training assessments. The project coordinator will report to the Project Manager and the organisation Trustee. The responsibilities are given below:

1. Manage the existing tailoring and beautician training centers



Ensuring enrolment at the centers:



- Plan the mobilisation activities at the centers based on the schedule. The new batch should be filled within 15 days of old batch finishing.

- Working with field mobilisers to disseminate of information about the vocational training

- Ensure all enrolment data is updated and forms properly filed

Supervision of centers



- Ensure that the centers are working smoothly and infrastructure issues are sorted out. Ensure inspection forms are completed for each center every month.

- Handle any issues that arise in interaction between students and trainers or local community leaders.

Assessments and soft skills training



- Make the plan for assessments at each center and ensure that assessments are completed on schedule and data entry is done

Placement of trainees



- Build a database of beauty parlours and boutiques in the areas around each centre and regularly keep in touch with them regarding placement and performance of our candidates. Review and add to the existing data bases

- Counsel the students for interviews at different organisations and drive maximum placements

- Identify beauty parlour chains with whom we can have longer term relationships

- Follow up with students and trainees after placement

- Maintain the database of past students so that we can be in touch with the students about any interesting job opportunities that are identified

Explore areas for new centres



- Visit different areas in Hyderabad and identify areas that are suitable for new vocational centres based on interest of women to join and also possibility of placements after the training

- Work with team for slum survey and slum profile

- Coordinate set up of new centre including identifying locations and interviewing trainers

Documentation and reporting



Prepare the center wise enrolment and placement reports and monthly report

Create monthly / quarterly reports for the donors as per their requirements

Liase with other organisations / NGOs to bring additional services to our vocational training beneficiaries as is relevant.

2. Lead the launch of the mobile repair training vertical



Hire a trainer

Build out the modules in collaboration with trainer and other experts

Identify a suitable location and set up the center with required equipment

Hire a center manager to run the operations

Launch the mobile repair training vertical with a batch of atleast 20 candidates

Skills/qualification required



- Bachelors degree in social work or related field

- Min 3-4 years of experience of working in the field with the marginalised communities in Hyderabad

- Experience in skill development programs in tailoring with livelihood linkages will be a plus

- Strong communication skills in Hindi and Telugu is a must and ability to do softskills training will be a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
