We're building something rare:
A master-planned residential community rooted in health, sustainability, and soul.
At
Sanctuary
, we're building a new standard of living. Our first development in the Texas Hill Country spans 100+ lots across 100 acres of preserved nature, designed with wellness-first infrastructure: clean water, non-toxic materials, EMF-conscious design, and thoughtful amenities that bring people together.
We're a US-based real estate development company with an international team of 20+ people across Austin, India, and Europe: architects, engineers, developers, creatives, operators. We move fast, and we build smart - from design systems to permitting to capital raising to a homebuying experience that feels like Shopify, not spreadsheets.
###
This role is for the architect who never wanted to stay in just one lane.
You studied architecture (or engineering), and you can talk shop when it comes to real-world design execution: materials, specifications, MEP coordination, 2D/3D workflows, and the details that actually make a house work.
But you've also got range. You're curious about the business side. You've touched marketing, sales, land acquisition, maybe even permitting or capital planning. You ask good questions. You notice problems and actually fix them. And you're hungry to do work that matters.
You'll work alongside one of our strongest operators, Riju - an architect who now drives projects across legal, sales, marketing, land, design, and operations. You'll become her right hand and eventually grow into a systems-owning, decision-making, truly irreplaceable team member.
What you'll work on
-----------------------
You won't be stuck in architecture, but you'll need to speak its language fluently. Your projects might include:
Assisting with buyer contracts, sales workflows, and pre-sale coordination
Coordinating across architecture, engineering, legal, and land teams to keep plans aligned
Building internal systems for pricing, upgrades, and home packages
Supporting permitting processes and researching regulatory nuances
Digging into spreadsheets, specs, or land docs to spot and fix inconsistencies
Helping build a smooth, scalable homebuyer experience (yes, there's tech involved)
Owning and improving small, critical workflows without being asked
This is a startup role. Some days you'll be on Zoom solving design bottlenecks. Other days you'll be knee-deep in buyer emails, file structures, or financial docs. You'll need patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for learning new things.
Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)
---------------------------------
?
Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
?
Hands-on experience in real estate development, construction, AND early-stage startups
? Ability to read and work with architectural and engineering drawings
? Fluency in the design process: coordination, constraints, and real-world trade-offs
? Clear, confident communicator who asks good questions and follows through
? Comfortable managing ambiguity and learning fast in a remote environment
Nice-to-Haves
-------------------
Internships or side projects in marketing, research, ops, or tech
Exposure to permitting, sales, legal, or capital raising workflows
Prior experience working with US-based teams or clients
High comfort with Google Sheets, ClickUp, and research tools
A track record of saying "I'll figure it out" - and then doing it
We don't care about years of experience. We care about how you work.
? You don't need the full path laid out for you
? You learn by doing (and Googling, ChatGPTing and asking smart questions)
? You can switch gears between strategy and admin without ego
? You communicate clearly, ask when you're unsure, and don't ghost
? You think in systems but aren't paralyzed by chaos
? You're startup-minded: resourceful, fast, and allergic to red tape
? You have "us" energy, not "me" energy
