SUMMARY

We are hiring a Project coordinator - the NBA for the adoption of the Newborn Anthropometry (NBA) AI tool by the health department in select geographies. Field coordinator - NBA will be a part of the program team which is a part of Wadhwani AI\'s interdisciplinary team to build, adopt, and scale up artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions addressing specific problems.

The Field Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating field-level activities for the adoption and scale-up of a newborn anthropometry AI solution in collaboration with state government initiatives. This role involves working closely with ASHA workers within the Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC) program to ensure the accurate and effective implementation of anthropometric measurements using AI tools.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of a Field Coordinator in the context of coordinating field-level activities for the adoption and scale-up of a Newborn Anthropometry (NBA) AI solution in collaboration with the state government and ASHA workers (Accredited Social Health Activists) within the Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC) program involves

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

Manage field-level activities under the guidance of the Program team in coordination with state and district-level officials for contextualization, adoption, and scale-up of NBA AI solution.

Implement a comprehensive project plan for the adoption and scale-up of the NBA AI solution in coordination with the Wadhwani AI program team, and state government officials.

Planning and implementing NBA AI solution at the field level by providing support in terms of capacity building, monitoring, handholding, and supportive supervision of frontline workers, health officials, and stakeholders.

2. Training and Capacity Building:

Be the point person for capacity building and handholding of state health officials and frontline workers for the use of the NBA AI solution

Capacity building ASHA workers, FLWs, and health officials to ensure they are proficient in using the AI tool for anthropometric measurements.

Collaborate with trainers and experts to conduct regular capacity-building programs for ASHA workers, focusing on the proper utilization of the AI solution.

3. Monitoring, handholding and Supportive supervision and Quality Assurance:

Support state, district, and health facility-level officials by extending support for the smooth adoption and scale-up of AI tool by doing rigorous field monitoring and handholding of FLWs.

Regularly report progress and challenges to the Program team of Wadhwani AI, and relevant state health authorities and make recommendations for improvement.

Oversee the field activities conducted by ASHA workers, ensuring adherence to standardized protocols and guidelines.

Implement quality assurance mechanisms to monitor the accuracy and reliability of anthropometric measurements obtained through the AI tool.

4. Feedback Mechanism:

Provide timely feedback to the program team of Wadhwani AI and state health officials to ensure corrective actions.

Establish a feedback mechanism to gather insights from ASHA workers, FLWs, field staff, and state health officials enabling continuous improvement in the implementation of the AI solution.

5. Resource Management:

Manage and allocate resources efficiently including gold-standard equipment, AI tools, training materials, and other necessary equipment.

Ensure the availability of technical support for ASHA workers and health officials to address any issues related to the AI solution during field operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1-2 years experience working with health department at the state/district level for implementation, monitoring, and supportive supervision of national health programs/interventions in the public health domain. Experience in Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH) related programs is a plus.

Data analytics and communication (written and verbal) skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are a plus.

Previous experience working with government and/or top-tier nonprofits and development partners and managing government stakeholders.

Good knowledge about the health system, and national health programs. Experience in program implementation, monitoring, handholding, and supportive supervision of frontline health workers (FLWs).

Experience in piloting and implementing new interventions (protocols, services, or products).

Exposure and passion for Artificial Intelligence (AI), and digital health interventions in healthcare will be an added advantage. Someone who understands the positive impact of technology at the grassroots level.
