Job Description

A Project Coordinator for Rabies would be responsible for leading and managing initiatives aimed at controlling and eliminating rabies, particularly in the context of MISSION RABIES.

This involves coordinating various stakeholders, implementing strategies, and ensuring the effective use of resources.

Key Responsibilities of a Project Coordinator for Rabies:

Developing Action Plans:

Creating detailed action plans that focus on eliminating human rabies transmitted by dogs, aligning with the goals of Mission Rabies.

Ensuring Continuity of Prevention:

Working to maintain continuous, quality-assured, and accessible rabies prevention measures, including vaccinations.

Capacity Building:

Strengthening the capabilities of public health services, veterinary services, and local governing bodies to address rabies.

Strategic Implementation:

Identifying and supporting activities that will effectively eliminate dog-mediated rabies.

Coordination and Support:

Fostering collaboration and support mechanisms among all stakeholders involved in rabies control.

Resource Mapping:

Identifying and mapping facilities (hospitals, clinics, and labs) for managing animal bite cases and rabies diagnosis.

Advocacy and Communication:

Promoting awareness and understanding of rabies prevention and control among the community, including advocating for appropriate post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).

Training and Capacity Building:

Providing training to healthcare professionals on rabies management, PEP, and other relevant topics.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Establishing a results-based monitoring framework to track progress and ensure the effective implementation of the action plan.
