The Project Coordinator (Civil Engineering) supports the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects. This role ensures smooth coordination between engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients. The Project Coordinator assists with project documentation, scheduling, procurement, quality control, and on-site activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination
Assist the Project Manager in planning and organizing project activities.
Coordinate daily project operations between internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
Track progress of work on-site and maintain updated project schedules.
Facilitate communication and resolve issues to keep the project on track.
2. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain project documents such as drawings, reports, RFIs, MOMs, and submittals.
Maintain documentation logs and ensure accurate version control.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
3. Site Coordination
Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.
Support site engineers with measurements, inspections, and quality checks.
Coordinate material delivery and verify quantities with procurement and suppliers.
4. Procurement & Vendor Coordination
Assist in preparing BOQs, material requisitions, and procurement schedules.
Compare vendor quotations and maintain supplier communication.
Follow up on material delivery and ensure availability as per project timeline.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist with project budgeting, cost estimation, and cost monitoring.
Track resource utilization and highlight cost overruns or variances.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure project activities comply with engineering standards, local regulations, and safety requirements.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
1-4 years of experience in civil construction or project coordination (depending on seniority).
Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts, construction processes, and site management.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera (preferred).
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in civil construction.
