  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling project finances, expenditure, forecasts, and risk management procedures.
  • Ensuring project budgets are managed effectively, with all financial data accurately tracked and reported to stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Implementing and maintaining comprehensive project controls tools and methodologies, ensuring they comply with industry standards and company practices.
  • Coordinating with project managers, project teams, finance, and procurement departments to compile, analyze and report monthly project cost reports.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project bids, tenders and business proposals, recommending budget adjustments where necessary.
  • Advising project teams on financial performance, providing analysis and insights to aid effective decision making.
  • Reviewing procurement processes, identifying inconsistencies and issues, and recommending improvements to achieve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensuring that all project accounting is carried out in line with company procedures and that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Conducting risk assessments to ensure potential project issues are proactively identified and mitigated.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of project management systems, databases, and processes.
  • Participating in project reviews and audits, validating project results against project objectives, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Assessing and reporting on project performance in relation to budget, schedule, and scope, providing the necessary information to facilitate effective decision making.
  • Providing regular feedback on project control practices, highlighting areas for improvement and implementing changes when necessary.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g. PMP, CMA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project controls, project management, financial analysis or related roles.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budget management, and cost control within a project environment.
  • Outstanding understanding of project management principles and practices, and proficiency with project management software tools.
  • Strong financial acumen with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, forecasting, and budgeting methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with financial software systems.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and persuasively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, handling tight deadlines, and balancing competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework governing financial management within the industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify financial risks and devise effective mitigation strategies.
