Must-Have
(Ideally should not be more than 3-5) o Must be a recent Progress OpenEdge DBA with 4+ years of dedicated, full time Progress BA experience. Pls Note: A developer with some DBA experience will not qualify for this position. Must be a DBA as your Progress OE DBA knowledge will be tested.
Comfortable with basic Unix (Solaris) system administration skills as to understand OS issues well enough to communicate with system administrators and the application development (AD) and support teams (This is not an SA role; but the candidate must be conversant in Unix SA). Basic Knowledge of OpenEdge (OE) application development in order to communicate effectively with AD and support teams regarding issues. (This is not a developer role but we need to work closely with the AD teams). Competent in OE V10 & OE V11 Skills as mentioned below. Proficient in OE installation and configuration. Good Working experience on Migration of Openedge from OE10 to OE11 Well versed with Unix shell scripting create new or modifying existing scripts to support the entire gamut of DBA activities Implementation of OE architecture. Creation of New databases. Configuration of Databases with the required startup parameters. Monitoring Maintenance of Databases. Fine Tuning of Database performance. Configuration and Monitoring of Database Backup Restore. Perform Dump & Load of Databases as per business requirement. Quick Trouble shooting of Database issues. Good Knowledge on OE database security features. Well versed with AI Imaging (Configuration, Maintenance and Monitoring). Good Proficiency in Administration of Apache Webservers, Progress Webspeed and Progress AppServers. Installation and Maintenance of Progress Hybrid Data Pipeline. Basic Knowledge on SQL Interfacing with Progress.
