Job Description

The Program Officer will be embedded within the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) to support Wadhwani AI's initiatives across health, nutrition, and early childhood education domains. This position requires a well-rounded understanding of public health, early childhood education, and social sector programs, along with familiarity with AI applications, data systems, and digital governance tools. The role combines program management, technical coordination, and stakeholder engagement responsibilities to ensure smooth execution and policy alignment of AI-led initiatives within the MoWCD ecosystem.

• Serve as the primary liaison between MoWCD and Wadhwani AI, ensuring smooth coordination, data exchange, and progress tracking.

• Support the design, rollout, and monitoring of AI-driven initiatives focused on early childhood health, nutrition, and foundational learning outcomes.

• Facilitate alignment of Wadhwani AI projects with existing MoWCD programs such as POSHAN Abhiyaan, Saksham Anganwadi, and ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education).

• Collaborate with technical, data science, and MEL teams at Wadhwani AI to integrate field feedback, operational insights, and ministry priorities into ongoing model development and evaluation.

• Coordinate with relevant ministries (e.g., Health, Education, DWCD) and development partners for multi-sectoral convergence of interventions when required.

• Support the development and interpretation of dashboards, evidence briefs, and reports for policy review and decision-making.

• Contribute to progress documentation, presentation materials, and official submissions to the Ministry.

• Facilitate trainings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions with government stakeholders and implementing partners.

• Track progress against implementation milestones and proactively flag operational challenges for resolution.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Public Health (MPH), Health Administration, Public Policy, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Health Informatics, Data Science, or other related disciplines.

• 3-6 years of professional experience in program management, public health, early childhood development, education, or government partnerships.

• Strong understanding of MoWCD programs, including ICDS, POSHAN Abhiyaan, Saksham Anganwadi, and ECD frameworks.

• Prior experience with or exposure to AI, digital health, or data-driven decision-making programs.

• Experience working with or supporting central/state government departments, multilateral agencies, or public sector partners.

• Demonstrated ability to synthesize data and translate technical insights into policy and operational recommendations.
