As part of our efforts to enhance comprehensive primary care services, we are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to serve as Program Officer for Harda, Madhya
Pradesh. The primary objective of this position is to provide techno-managerial support in the design, implementation and monitoring of cardiovascular health interventions, focused on improving control of hypertension and diabetes at the primary health care level in Harda district. The PO will work closely with the State Team Lead and NCD Nodal Officer (Harda) to implement strategies for improving screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for individuals with hypertension and diabetes at the primary health care level. Responsibilities:

• Work with district counterparts to implement the concept of learning lab for strengthening Hypertension and Diabetes components of NP-NCD in the assigned district.

• Implementation and monitoring of all program related activities to ensure necessary technical input and coordination to achieve desired results.
• Coordinate and collaborate with government officials and other stakeholders for planning and implementation of project related activities in the intervention districts.
• Develop and produce documents like situation analysis reports, assessment reports, gap analysis plans, procurement plans etc. as per the program need and local context.
• Undertake process documentation of lessons learnt during the program implementation and best practices emerging at the district level.
• Work closely with the supervisor on setting program priorities, directions, and responding to requests for technical support from state health officials.
• Represent Jhpiego at district meetings involving government and other development partners.
• Support in identification of key primary healthcare challenges in assigned district and co-designing innovative solutions for addressing those challenges.
• Support the roll out of demonstration models/ learning labs for strengthening Hypertension and Diabetes in HWCplatform.
• Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve the project and organizational goals. * Liaison with district NCD team on daily basis .
• Assessment of public health facilities to understand readiness and identify gaps in service delivery for Hypertension / Diabetes and define potential interventions to strengthen delivery of care / services.

Strengthening supply-chain of essential commodities including glucometer, glucose monitoring strips, insulin, and
other drugs and commodities as required. Required Qualifications:
Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS is preferred with an essential masters in public health (MPH), diploma in public health

(DPH) or post-graduation in health management

• At least 3 to 5 years of experience of working with government programs and systems for large scale public health

programs especially health systems strengthening interventions

• Technical knowledge and experience in health programs in the high focus states of India
• Knowledge of latest GoI NP-NCD and CPHC program guidelines, program management structures, Program

Implementation plan (PIP) process.

• Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies / strategiesxe2x80x94

particularly Ayushman Bharat and National Health Mission

• Demonstrable experience and competency in managing diverse objectives with government and multiple

stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies:

• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Direct experience of independently liaising with government health functionaries, state level administrators and

other development partners.

• Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as assessment reports, training materials,

program reports etc.

• Technically proficient with up-to-date knowledge and skills required for the assigned task.
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
• Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel up to 60% of his/her time
