Key Responsibilities New Store Openings (NSO) & Expansion
Lead end-to-end execution of new store openings across India -- from feasibility to launch.
Drive location strategy & property acquisition using data points such as:
Population & catchment analysis High-street / mall performance Historical sales benchmarks Competitive brand mapping Manage rental negotiations, legal diligence, and agreement finalization in coordination with legal teams. Own store design finalization to ensure a premium, consistent, and differentiated customer experience across formats. Oversee project management: Vendor finalization BOQ preparation and validation Cost-benefit analysis Site execution and timely store handover Retail Operations & COCO Store Profitability
Formulate and execute strategies for COCO stores, ensuring strong unit economics and sustainable profitability.
Build and enforce retail SOPs across sales, operations, VM, inventory, and customer experience.
Drive store productivity improvements through structured interventions on:
Regularly review store performance and implement corrective actions.
Cost Optimization & Business Model Reinvention
Balance rapid expansion with cost efficiency, ensuring capital discipline during growth.
Continuously identify opportunities to optimize store capex, opex, and operating processes.
Support leadership in reworking marketing and go-to-market strategies to improve ROI and footfall quality.
Merchandising, Inventory & Planning
Partner with category and supply teams to:
Define store-wise merchandise mix and assortment. Plan inventory flow and replenishment logic
Ensure alignment between store size, catchment, and assortment strategy.
5. Leadership, Team Building & Capability Development Build, scale, and manage cross-functional teams including: Retail Operations Managers Area Sales Managers Project Management Business Development Training & MIS
Supervise recruitment, onboarding, and training of retail teams (100+ headcount scale).
Drive performance culture through clear KPIs, accountability dashboards, and review mechanisms.
Strategic Programs & Founder Collaboration
Lead and support high-priority strategic initiatives, including:
New retail formats and pilots Tech implementations Process digitization KPI & performance dashboards
Work closely with founders and leadership to:
Review financial forecasts and budgets Track progress against business goals Flag risks and drive course correction Travel extensively for store visits, reviews, and leadership presentations.
