Executive Summary
Arun Engineering is seeking a
Program Management Executive
to spearhead the VMC (Vertical Machining Center) division of our new automotive prototype plant. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of machined prototype components--from initial CAD data receipt to final part inspection. This role combines high-level project oversight with deep technical fluency in precision machining, ensuring our prototype builds stay on the cutting edge of automotive innovation.
Key Executive Responsibilities
1. VMC Program Strategy & Launch
Fleet Management:
Oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of new VMC assets (3-axis and 5-axis).
Process Mapping:
Design the operational flow for "Quick-Turn" prototyping, ensuring that the VMC department can pivot between different vehicle programs within hours.
Standardization:
Develop executive-level SOPs for machining tolerances, tool life management, and machine maintenance.
2. Technical Project Leadership
DFM Liaison:
Act as the primary interface between Design Engineering and the Machine Shop. Identify
Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
issues early to prevent costly delays.
Tooling & Fixturing Oversight:
Manage the program for custom fixture development, ensuring high-repeatability for complex prototype geometries.
Capacity & Scheduling:
Utilize advanced scheduling tools to balance machine load, ensuring "First-of-Kind" parts are delivered to the assembly floor on schedule.
3. Performance & Quality Analytics
OEE Tracking:
Monitor and report on
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
to senior leadership.
Quality Integrity:
Ensure all VMC outputs align with GD&T requirements and automotive safety standards for prototype testing.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
5 years in automotive or aerospace manufacturing, with a focus on CNC/VMC operations and program management.
Technical Breadth:
Strong understanding of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX) and the ability to interpret complex automotive blueprints/GD&T.
Leadership:
Proven ability to manage technical teams, vendors, and external contractors during a plant startup phase.
Education:
B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
