Shishu Sarothi is seeking to hire an Inclusive Education Program Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating with SSA, district education officials, teachers, field teams, and community stakeholders in Karbi Anglong and Kamrup Metro. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in setting up and managing learning centres, strengthening remedial teaching on FLN for Grades 1-3, and embedding inclusive practices in schools and communities.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate with SSA and district/block education authorities for smooth program implementation.
Lead the establishment and functioning of learning centres in selected communities and schools.
Design and oversee remedial education strategies for foundational literacy and numeracy in Grades 1-3, with special focus on children with disabilities and struggling learners.
Organize and facilitate training programmes for teachers, Anganwadi workers, and Inclusive Education coordinators on inclusive practices and FLN pedagogy.
Mentor and provide ongoing support to field workers and learning centre facilitators.
Develop and adapt teaching-learning materials (TLM), remedial content, and activity-based modules in local languages.
Conduct sensitisation and awareness programmes with parents, SMCs, and community stakeholders to promote inclusive education and sustainability of learning centres.
Monitor and track children's attendance, participation, and learning progress in schools and learning centres.
Document program activities, innovative practices, success stories, and challenges to inform learning and advocacy.
Prepare periodic progress reports and share updates with SSA, donors, and project partners.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Post Graduate in Social Work, Development Studies, or related field.
7 + years of experience in programme coordination in the education sector, preferably in inclusive education, ECCE, or FLN.
Experience of working with government education systems (preferably SSA/SmSA) and in rural/tribal communities.
Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices, foundational literacy and numeracy pedagogy, and remedial education approaches.
Excellent facilitation, mentoring, and relationship-management skills.
Fluency in English and regional languages is an advantage.
