Experience
Minimum 15 years of total experience
after M.Sc Nursing, including:
Teaching experience at Undergraduate and Postgraduate Nursing levels
Relevant clinical experience in Mental Health / Psychiatric Nursing
Experience as
Associate Professor / Professor
preferred as per INC norms
Job ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Leadership
Plan, organize, and deliver
advanced theory and practical teaching
in Mental Health Nursing
Provide
academic and administrative leadership
to the department
Guide students in
clinical practice, case presentations, seminars, role plays, simulations, and skill labs
Evaluate student performance through
examinations, assessments, and viva voce
Mentor junior faculty and support faculty development initiatives
Research & Scholarly Activities
Supervise
postgraduate dissertations and doctoral research
(where applicable)
Publish research articles in
peer-reviewed national and international journals
Present research findings at
conferences, seminars, and workshops
Promote research, evidence-based practice, and innovation in mental health nursing
Clinical & Professional Responsibilities
Oversee clinical teaching in
psychiatric wards, OPDs, community mental health centers, and rehabilitation settings
Ensure ethical, legal, and safe psychiatric nursing practices
Encourage holistic, patient-centered, and recovery-oriented care
Administrative & Institutional Duties
Head or coordinate the
Department of Mental Health Nursing
Participate in
curriculum development, syllabus revision, and academic planning
Ensure compliance with
INC, University, NAAC, and other regulatory requirements
Lead accreditation processes and inspections
Serve on academic councils, boards of studies, and institutional committees
Support community outreach and mental health awareness programs
