Head of Department (HOD) - Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
Department:
Computer Science & Engineering.
The Head of Department (CSE) will provide
strategic, academic, and administrative leadership
to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The HOD will be responsible for
academic planning, curriculum development, faculty mentoring, research promotion, and ensuring high-quality teaching-learning outcomes
in alignment with institutional objectives and accreditation standards.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Academic Leadership
Plan, organize, and oversee all academic activities of the department.
Ensure effective curriculum delivery in line with AICTE / University / Institutional guidelines.
Coordinate the preparation of lesson plans, academic calendars, and teaching schedules.
Promote the use of innovative teaching methodologies and ICT-based learning.
Ensure timely conduct of classes, examinations, and result processing.
B. Faculty Management
Lead, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff members.
Facilitate faculty development programs, workshops, and training sessions.
Allocate teaching and administrative responsibilities effectively.
Ensure adherence to institutional policies and academic discipline within the department.
C. Research & Development
Encourage and support faculty and students in research, publications, and patent filings.
Facilitate the establishment of research labs, funded projects, and industry collaborations.
Organize conferences, seminars, and technical events to promote academic excellence.
D. Student Development
Oversee student mentoring, counseling, and progression activities.
Encourage student participation in hackathons, coding competitions, internships, and projects.
Address academic and behavioral issues of students in coordination with faculty mentors.
E. Administrative & Compliance
Prepare departmental budgets, procurement plans, and infrastructure development proposals.
Ensure compliance with AICTE, UGC, NAAC, and other regulatory requirements.
Maintain departmental records, reports, and documentation for audits and inspections.
Coordinate with higher authorities for strategic planning and institutional development.
3. Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering
(or equivalent discipline) from a recognized university.
Minimum
10 years of teaching / research experience
, with at least
3 years in an administrative or leadership role
(such as Professor or Associate Professor).
Strong academic and research credentials, including publications in reputed journals.
4. Desired Skills and Competencies
Proven leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience in curriculum design, accreditation (NBA/NAAC), and academic quality assurance.
Strong industry-academia linkage and project management capabilities.
Proficiency in emerging technologies (AI, ML, Data Science, Cloud, IoT, etc.).
