Job Title Professional, Release Engineering

What Does a great Release Engineering do at Fiserv?

Release Ops Engineer closely works closely with the Development and Testing in terms of day-to-day Build, Deploy and Packaging of the codes in the lower environments. He / She is also responsible for the Preparing Release works and to maintain the stability of the environments. Needs to laise with multiple stake holders and support the day-to-day environment issues in non-prod environments for WebLogic and Linux support activities. Need to have hands on the WebLogic administration activities and configuration of nodes and clusters.

What you will do:

• Maintain & Mange the Source Code in SVN and Defect tracking tool Bugzilla.
• Manage stability of environment in the lower regions, close to 11 environments in Linux.
• Perform Health checks and monitoring the environments.
• Installation and Administration of WebLogic
• Install, configure, maintain and support application environments
• Debug and resolve issues related to application configuration and technology stacks

• Deploying the Fiserv\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise wide J2EE applications in our non-prod environments running WebLogic application servers on Red Hat Linux systems with Oracle 19c RAC database.
• Upgrading WebLogic/JBoss Application servers and applying periodic security patches.

• Troubleshoot environment and application issues occurring in our Test environments and work closely with application stakeholders to fix the issues within time.
• Track the various end points with respect to the different code branches and releases.
• Develop an automated, continuous, build process that reviews the source code, identifies build errors and notifies appropriate parties using Build.
• Package, deliver and install according to a standard (best practice) in line with the enterprise IT policy.
• Troubleshooting any application issue reported by clients and should possess good communication skills.
• Define release engineering process - builds, deployments, automation for new applications.
• CICD support/execution.
• Writing scripts using Shell scripting or Perl/Python to help in our regular activities like Application Deployment, Middleware upgrade or monitoring.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor in engineering (Computer Science, or applicable work experience).
• 2-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Application Support that includes Linux and WebLogic Support Administration
• Good Exposure towards DevOps and CI/CD.
• IBM Urban Code Build tool, Jenkins, would be an added advantage.
• 2 or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise applications in a networked environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve application issues.
• Experience working within an agile development team.

What would be nice to have

• Good Exposure towards Linux and WebLogic Administration and Application Support.
• Source Code Management tool, Bug Tracking Tool, Build and Deploy Exposure
• Understanding of Release Management concepts and having knowledge on their day-to-day activities will be preferred.
• Shell Scripting and python would be an added advantage.
• More than 2-year experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL server.
