Job Summary

The Manufacturing Support Technician performs non-production activities that support manufacturing processes in alignment with Cummins' quality, safety, and productivity standards. Operating in a dynamic manufacturing environment, the role requires limited supervision and focuses on continuous improvement, process optimization, and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

Immediately stop work and report any major injury hazards. Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards. Comply with all HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Promote a culture of safety and interdependence. Correct hazards within scope and capability. Minimize environmental impact through responsible work practices. Participate actively in HSE training programs.

Quality

Adhere to standard work procedures, process documentation, and policies. Identify and report quality concerns to reduce costs and risks. Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with specifications.

Delivery & Operations

Execute assigned tasks in accordance with defined roles and responsibilities. Demonstrate high competency in core manufacturing skills. Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, safety, and process efficiency. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Apply Cummins Operating System (COS) and Operations Excellence (OE) methodologies. Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to ensure optimal process performance. Perform additional duties as required to meet manufacturing goals.

Communicate effectively with team members and support functions. Engage in ongoing training and personal development aligned with business needs. Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving quality, safety, material flow, and employee development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

High School and ITI or Diploma. Additional technical certifications in welding, robotics, or mechanical engineering are preferred. Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience

Technical Knowledge

Robotic Welding Teaching Knowledge. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Fixture Design and Maintenance. Preventive Maintenance (PM) of Fixtures and Hydraulic Trollies. Documentation and Process Control (FMEA, Work Instructions, Control Plans).

Experience

Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Intermediate-level knowledge gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
