A. Production Planning and Execution
Plan, organize, and monitor daily production schedules based on project timelines and priorities.
Ensure all fabrication, machining, and assembly activities follow engineering drawings and quality standards.
Allocate manpower and machines efficiently to meet daily and weekly targets.
Ensure timely completion of jobs with minimum idle hours and material wastage.
Coordinate with procurement and stores for material availability.
B. Manpower and Labour Management
Supervise and lead skilled and unskilled labour on the shop floor (fitters, welders, fabricators, helpers).
Maintain discipline, punctuality, and performance among the workforce.
Ensure proper delegation of tasks, shift scheduling, and overtime management.
Address grievances and motivate the team to achieve output targets.
C. Quality and Process Control
Ensure products are manufactured strictly as per design drawings, weld maps, and process instructions.
Conduct in-process checks to identify deviations early and prevent rework.
Work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure all inspection reports, testing, and documentation are completed.
D. Productivity and Process Improvement
Track daily productivity of each department (fabrication, assembly, painting, etc.).
Analyze bottlenecks and propose improvements using simple tools (Pareto charts, cause-effect diagrams, Excel tracking, etc.).
Suggest and implement lean manufacturing practices and workflow optimization.
Maintain productivity dashboards and report daily progress to management.
E. Coordination and Communication
Liaise with design, procurement, and project management teams to resolve technical or process issues.
Provide daily progress updates and highlight risks or delays proactively.
Ensure smooth coordination between fabrication, assembly, and dispatch.
F. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
Ensure compliance with all factory safety norms and promote safe working practices.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the shop floor.
Monitor machine health and maintenance schedules.
