to join our Chikankari manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional Indian embroidery techniques, especially Chikankari, and the ability to blend heritage craftsmanship with contemporary fashion trends.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development:
Create innovative designs for garments incorporating Chikankari embroidery, ensuring a balance between tradition and modern aesthetics.
Trend Analysis:
Research current fashion trends and adapt them to suit Chikankari styles for domestic and international markets.
Sampling & Production Coordination:
Work closely with artisans and production teams to develop samples and ensure quality standards.
Fabric & Material Selection:
Choose appropriate fabrics, threads, and embellishments that complement Chikankari work.
Client Customization:
Design bespoke pieces for clients and collaborate on custom orders.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure embroidery patterns and garment construction meet brand standards.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with merchandisers, pattern makers, and marketing teams for seasonal collections.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or Textile Design.
Strong knowledge of Indian embroidery techniques, especially Chikankari.
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW).
Creativity and ability to innovate while respecting traditional craft.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
2-5 years in ethnic wear or hand-embroidery-based fashion.
Experience working with artisan communities or heritage crafts.
