Job Description

1. Production Planning & Execution

Manage and supervise daily production activities on the shop floor. Allocate manpower according to production schedules and shift requirements. Ensure manufacturing of air dryers (assembly, brazing, welding, refrigerant charging, vessel fabrication, electrical wiring) meets deadlines. Monitor productivity, cycle times, and line balancing. Coordinate with planning, stores, and purchase teams for material availability.

2. Quality Control

Ensure adherence to ISO/QMS procedures and company quality standards. Conduct in-process inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design and testing requirements. Ensure proper leak testing, pressure testing, and final performance testing of air dryers. Identify and address defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

3. Team Leadership & Training

Supervise technicians, operators, welders, and assembly teams. Provide training on SOPs, safety rules, equipment handling, and new assembly processes. Evaluate employee performance and recommend skill development plans.

4. Equipment & Process Management

Ensure machines and tools (brazing torches, welding equipment, vacuum pumps, charging stations, compressors) are maintained and calibrated. Monitor preventive maintenance activities in coordination with the maintenance team. Implement continuous improvement techniques: Kaizen, 5S, lean manufacturing, waste reduction.

5. Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety standards and proper use of PPE. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, pressure vessel regulations, and workplace safety norms. Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and accident-prevention activities.

6. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare production reports, shift logs, quality records, and downtime analysis. Maintain documentation for audits (ISO, customer audits, internal audits). Track inventory consumption and minimize wastage.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation

Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related engineering field.

Experience

3-8 years of experience in production supervision, preferably in: Air dryer manufacturing Air compressor/pressure equipment industry HVAC/Refrigeration equipment assembly Fabrication and assembly lines

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of air dryer types: refrigerated, desiccant, heatless, heat-reactivated. Understanding of refrigeration circuits, heat exchangers, desiccants, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with welding processes, pressure vessel assembly, electrical control panels. Ability to read technical drawings, P&ID, wiring diagrams.

Soft Skills

Leadership and team-handling skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, etc.)
