Position Title: Production Supervisor

Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets are met in terms of quality, efficiency, safety, and cost. This role includes supervising production staff, coordinating workflow, resolving operational issues, and maintaining compliance with company policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Operations Management

Monitor and manage day-to-day production activities on the shop floor.

Ensure production schedules are followed and targets are achieved.

Allocate manpower and resources efficiently to meet deadlines.

Maintain accurate daily production reports and documentation.

2. Quality Control

Ensure all manufactured products meet required quality standards.

Coordinate with the Quality team to address defects, deviations, and process issues.

Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in case of quality failures.

3. Workforce Supervision

Supervise, train, and guide production operators and technicians.

Monitor employee performance and provide feedback.

Resolve team issues and maintain discipline on the shop floor.

4. Safety & Compliance

Enforce workplace safety rules, PPE usage, and regulatory guidelines.

Conduct routine safety checks and support audits.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

5. Equipment & Process Management

Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and maintenance of machines.

Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown repairs.

Suggest process improvements for better productivity and cost savings.

6. Communication & Coordination

Coordinate with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Planning.

Escalate operational issues to management when necessary.

Participate in meetings and contribute to production planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma/Graduate in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related field.

2-5 years of experience in manufacturing or production supervision.

Strong knowledge of production processes and equipment handling.

Leadership and team management skills.

Good understanding of quality standards (ISO/GMP/Lean, etc. as applicable).

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Ability to work in shifts and under pressure.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or similar practices.

Basic computer skills (MS Excel, ERP systems).

Experience in managing high-volume production environments.
