Production Supervisor: Manufacturing

Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely production. This role oversees production staff, maintains equipment performance, ensures product quality, and drives continuous improvement to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities



Supervise, lead, and motivate production operators and shift employees. Plan and allocate daily manpower, materials, and resources to meet production schedules. Ensure product quality standards are consistently met; take corrective action when deviations occur. Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown repairs. Implement safety practices and participate in safety audits to maintain a zero-incident workplace. Maintain accurate production records, reports, and KPI dashboards (OEE, downtime, scrap rate, etc.). Promote lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives. Train employees on work instructions, equipment operation, quality checks, and safety procedures. Enforce compliance with company policies, SOPs, ISO/industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. Coordinate material flow with warehouse, quality, engineering, procurement, and other departments. Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity. Conduct shift handover meetings and communicate priorities with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

3-7 years of experience

in production or manufacturing supervision (industry specific if needed). Strong knowledge of production planning, shop-floor management, and lean concepts. Experience working in [continuous flow / batch / CNC / FMCG / automotive / chemical.

Required Skills & Competencies



Leadership and team-building abilities. Strong understanding of quality control and safety requirements. Problem-solving and root-cause analysis (RCA) skills. Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma (preferred). Good communication skills (oral & written). Proficient in MS Office; ERP/MRP exposure is an advantage. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Willingness to work in shifts (if applicable).
