Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the manufacturing team, managing the production schedule, and ensuring all products are manufactured efficiently, meet quality standards, and adhere to all safety regulations. The goal is to maximize productivity and minimize costs while fostering a safe and high-performance work environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
I. Production & Operations Management
Schedule and Planning:
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and assign personnel responsibilities to meet production targets and deadlines.
Workflow Optimization:
Monitor the workflow, observe control points, and implement process improvements (e.g., Lean Manufacturing principles) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Quality Control:
Oversee the production output to ensure products meet established quality specifications and standards. Address and resolve non-conformance issues promptly.
Troubleshooting:
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions, and process variances quickly to minimize downtime.
Inventory & Resources:
Coordinate with the supply chain and materials department to ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and necessary resources.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure the safe use of all equipment and machinery. Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and necessary repairs.
II. Team Leadership & Personnel Management
Supervision and Coaching:
Manage, supervise, and lead the production team, providing guidance, coaching, and direction to employees.
Performance Management:
Monitor employee performance and productivity. Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
Communication:
Serve as the primary communication link between the production floor and upper management, providing clear instructions and reporting on progress, challenges, and results.
Work Environment:
Resolve personnel disputes and foster a positive, motivating, and collaborative team environment.
III. Safety and Compliance
Safety Enforcement:
Implement and strictly enforce all company safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Reporting:
Prepare and analyze production reports, performance metrics (KPIs), and operational data for management review, highlighting progress and suggesting improvements.
Policy Adherence:
Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or a similar leadership role in a manufacturing or production environment.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of production processes, machinery, and quality control principles.
Leadership Skills:
Strong organizational, leadership, and team management abilities with a proven track record of motivating teams.
Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly address operational issues.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for training, reporting, and inter-departmental collaboration.
Results-Driven:
A self-motivated individual with a focus on achieving and surpassing production targets.
Education (Common Requirements):
High School Diploma or equivalent in any technical field or a related field is often preferred.
Software Proficiency:
Competency with MS Office is a must.
