The HRS-Based Supervisor is responsible for monitoring daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring that hourly workers complete assigned tasks efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards. The role requires strong people management skills, coordination, and adherence to manufacturing SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Monitoring
Supervise hourly workers on assigned machines/lines.
Ensure production targets (hourly/daily) are achieved as per plan.
Allocate work based on skill & shift requirements.
Record hourly production data and report deviations immediately.
2. Quality Control
Ensure cereal production follows QC parameters (weight, texture, shape, roasting, packaging quality).
Coordinate with QC team for sampling and in-process checks.
Stop production if any quality issue is identified and escalate to Production In-Charge.
3. Workforce Management (HRS-Based)
Maintain daily attendance of hourly workers.
Assign work, break timings, and shift rotation.
Track overtime and additional hours performed.
Resolve small worker issues and escalate major concerns to HR.
4. Machine & Process Supervision
Ensure machines start on time and are operated safely.
Report any machine breakdown to the maintenance team.
Verify cleaning & sanitization activities during shift change.
5. Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety guidelines: PPE usage, hygiene rules, no jewelry, no loose clothing.
Conduct basic on-the-job safety training for new workers.
Ensure compliance with FSSAI & internal food safety standards.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain production logs, downtime reports, and hourly output sheets.
Submit end-of-shift reports to Production Manager.
Record material consumption & wastage accurately.
Key Skills Required
Team handling and supervision.
Basic knowledge of cereal manufacturing processes (roasting, mixing, extrusion, packing).
Ability to maintain discipline and manage hourly workers.
Understanding of safety, hygiene, and quality protocols.
Strong communication & time management.
Basic computer skills (Excel / ERP entry preferred).
Qualifications
Minimum: Diploma / ITI / Graduate in any field.
Experience: 1-3 years in food manufacturing or FMCG preferred.
Knowledge of FSSAI food handling rules is an added advantage.
Working Hours
HRS-Based work depending on shift requirement.
Shift rotation may apply (Morning / Evening / Night).
