B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Petrochemical Engineering
Process Knowledge
Understanding of
carbon production processes
(e.g., furnace black, thermal black, acetylene black, graphite)
Familiarity with
high-temperature reactors, pyrolysis, thermal cracking, and chemical reactions
involved in carbon production
Knowledge of
raw materials
: petroleum feedstock, natural gas, coal tar, etc.
Heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid mechanics, chemical reaction engineering
Process optimization, scaling from lab/pilot to production
Reactors, kilns, scrubbers, cyclones, conveyors, mixers, grinders
Knowledge of
like SEM, XRD, BET surface area analyzer (optional but preferred)
Industrial safety standards: chemical handling, high-temperature operation, dust explosion mitigation
2-5 years for
process optimization, troubleshooting, and plant operations
Experience in
carbon, chemical, or specialty materials plants
is highly preferred
