Job Summary:



The Production Planning and Procurement Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth production operations by efficiently planning material requirements, managing inventory, and handling procurement processes. This role involves coordinating with internal departments and external vendors to align supply with demand and maintain cost-effective and timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:



Production Planning:



Develop and execute production schedules based on sales forecasts and customer demand. Ensure optimal utilization of manufacturing resources (manpower, machinery, materials). Monitor daily production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate delays or priority shifts. Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.

Procurement:



Identify and source raw materials, packaging, and consumables based on production needs. Build relationships with reliable suppliers and negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery timelines. Issue purchase orders, track order status, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Evaluate supplier performance regularly (quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness).

Inventory Management:



Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock. Implement FIFO and inventory control methods. Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies. Collaborate with the finance team for stock valuation and budgeting.

Coordination and Communication:



Liaise with the sales, production, and warehouse teams to align procurement with actual demand. Generate and analyze reports on material planning, procurement, and production status. Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain and production planning.

Key Requirements:



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. MBA/PGDM in Operations or Materials Management is a plus.

Experience:

5-10 years of relevant experience in production planning and procurement in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of MRP, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally Prime, Zoho Inventory) Good negotiation and vendor management skills Proficient in Excel and data analysis Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience in ISO/GMP-compliant environments Knowledge of lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) principles Prior experience in water bottling, beverage, food, or similar production industry (if applicable)

Pay: ₹40,000.02 - ₹60,457.84 per month
