Job Description

Job Purpose

To plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities for wooden furniture manufacturing, ensuring optimum resource utilization, adherence to quality standards, and timely delivery of orders.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on order requirements and delivery timelines. Review and interpret design drawings, material specifications, and work orders for wooden furniture items. Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure material availability and manpower allocation. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and safety procedures. Optimize workflow and reduce bottlenecks by effective sequencing of operations. Track production progress and prepare regular reports for management. Liaise with quality control to ensure final products meet specifications. Plan capacity requirements for machines, tools, and manpower. Implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve productivity and minimize waste. Ensure compliance with industry standards for woodworking and finishing processes.

Skills & Competencies

In-depth knowledge of

woodworking processes

(cutting, shaping, assembly, polishing, finishing). Understanding of CNC machines, panel saws, edge banding, and joinery methods. Strong planning and scheduling skills. Proficiency in

MS Excel

and production planning software (ERP/MRP systems). Ability to read and interpret furniture design and shop drawings. Problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and quality. Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma / Degree in

Mechanical Engineering

,

Production Engineering

, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in

production planning

within the wooden furniture industry. Experience with modular furniture, custom furniture, or interior manufacturing setups preferred.
