Key Responsibilities of a Production Planning Coordinator (Garment Industry)

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

Prepare

production plans

based on order quantity, delivery dates, and factory capacity Create

line-wise and style-wise schedules

Balance workloads across sewing lines to meet shipment deadlines

2. Capacity & Resource Management

Analyze

machine, manpower, and line capacity

Allocate resources efficiently to avoid bottlenecks Coordinate overtime or additional shifts when required

3. Material & Trim Coordination

Ensure

fabric, trims, and accessories

are available before production starts Follow up with the

merchandising and stores team

for material readiness Monitor material consumption vs. plan to reduce wastage

4. Cross-Department Coordination

Work closely with

merchandising, cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality teams

Communicate production priorities and changes clearly Resolve inter-department issues that may delay production

5. Production Monitoring & Control

Track

daily production output

vs. plan Identify delays, low efficiency, or quality issues Take corrective actions to keep production on track

6. Order & Delivery Management

Monitor

order progress

from cutting to packing Ensure production meets

buyer shipment schedules

Support expediting urgent or priority orders

7. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare

daily, weekly, and monthly production reports

Maintain records of production status, efficiency, and capacity utilization Share updates with management and buyers (through merchandising)

8. Quality & Compliance Support

Ensure production plans comply with

quality standards

Support audits and buyer requirements related to production scheduling Coordinate rework or alterations without affecting delivery dates

9. Continuous Improvement

Analyze production data to improve

line efficiency and throughput

Suggest process improvements to reduce lead time and cost Support lean or productivity improvement initiatives
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
