Role Description



This is a full-time, on-site role based in

Chennai

for a

Production Planning & Control (PPC) Engineer

. The role is critical to ensuring projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and on schedule--from design handover to final commissioning at customer sites.

The selected candidate will act as the central coordination point between design, production, procurement, vendors, and site execution teams. Ownership of

planning, material control, cost tracking, and schedule adherence

is a core expectation of this role.

Key Responsibilities



Production Planning and Resource Allocation



Understand project design documents, technical requirements, and delivery timelines.

Prepare detailed production plans and allocate engineers and technicians accordingly.

Monitor daily/weekly production progress and take corrective actions as required.

Material and Inventory Control



Plan and track material consumption from inventory against project requirements.

Identify shortages proactively and coordinate with vendors for procurement.

Manage purchase completion in coordination with internal teams, ensuring material availability without delays.

Project Co-ordination and Execution Support



Coordinate with site teams during project execution at customer locations to ensure smooth progress.

Act as the central interface between factory, site engineers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Ensure timely resolution of issues impacting cost, schedule, or quality.

Cost Control and Budget Ownership



Own the project budget from initiation to completion.

Track incurred costs, variable expenses, and deviations from the approved budget.

Ensure project completion within budget and committed timelines.

Identify and drive cost-optimization opportunities without compromising quality.

Reporting and Analysis



Prepare detailed

Excel-based project cost sheets

, including:

Budgeted vs actual cost Material consumption Variable and overhead expenses Cost-saving analysis
Maintain similar comparative analysis across multiple projects for management review.

Qualifications & Experience



Mandatory



Bachelor's degree in

Engineering

(Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Industrial / Automation or related fields).

Minimum 2 years of experience

in

Production Planning & Control (PPC) Production Planning

, or

Project Planning & Control

in a project-based manufacturing or automation environment. Strong understanding of production workflows, inventory control, and procurement coordination. Proven experience in project cost control and schedule management. Proficiency in

MS Excel

for budgeting, cost tracking, and analytical reporting.

Skills Required



Strong skills in Production Planning and creating effective Production Schedules Working knowledge of PLC systems and factory automation Familiarity with industrial control panels, field devices, and automation projects Experience in a manufacturing or IoT-based technology environment is a plus Experience in using ERP / MRP systems for production planning, inventory management and procurement will be preferred Proficiency in Analytical Skills and Planning to drive operational efficiency Excellent Communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams Experience with inventory management and resource optimization Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
