Job Description

Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels. Plan manpower, materials, machines, and processes to meet production targets. Analyze capacity and plan shifts or overtime as required. Coordinate with procurement and stores for material availability.

2. Production Control

Monitor daily production performance and ensure adherence to schedules. Identify bottlenecks or delays and implement corrective actions. Ensure optimal utilization of machines and resources. Maintain accurate production data and reports for analysis and decision-making.

3. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with design, procurement, quality, and maintenance departments to ensure smooth production flow. Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding material delivery schedules. Collaborate with logistics to meet dispatch schedules and customer delivery timelines.

4. Inventory Management

Maintain adequate raw material, WIP (Work in Progress), and finished goods levels. Support implementation of lean manufacturing, Kanban, and JIT systems. Ensure inventory accuracy through regular audits and system updates.

5. Continuous Improvement

Analyze production data for efficiency improvements. Implement cost reduction, lead time reduction, and waste elimination initiatives. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for production issues.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Knowledge of production processes, materials management, and quality standards Excellent communication and coordination skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S practices
