to manage and coordinate production schedules, material planning, and workflow for aluminium-based products. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient production processes, on-time delivery, and optimal resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
Develop and maintain production plans and schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory requirements.
Coordinate with sales, procurement, and production teams to align planning with demand and capacity.
Plan for raw materials (like aluminium ingots, billets, etc.), consumables, and tools as per the production schedule.
Control & Monitoring:
Monitor daily production activities and progress against schedules.
Identify delays, bottlenecks, or deviations and take corrective actions.
Track inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to avoid shortages or excesses.
Coordination:
Liaise with the procurement and stores departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
Work closely with quality control to ensure quality standards are met and integrated into planning.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain production records, reports, and documentation for audits and management review.
Generate reports on production efficiency, downtime, utilization, and forecast vs. actual outputs.
Process Improvement:
Recommend improvements in production planning and scheduling systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Implement lean manufacturing and Just-In-Time (JIT) concepts wherever applicable.
Very important Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Must have the knowledge in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Odoo, Tally, etc.)
Knowledge of aluminium manufacturing processes (extrusion, rolling, casting, etc.)
Must know to troubleshoot the ERP's systems.
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to handle multi-tasking and work under pressure
Understanding of inventory control and supply chain management
Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Experience:
2-5 years in a production planning role within an aluminium or metal-based manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with ISO standards, lean manufacturing, and 5S
Hands-on experience in aluminium processing (e.g., extrusion, anodizing, casting)
Exposure to export orders and customized product scheduling
