The Production Planning Executive is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely delivery of finished products. The role ensures that demand forecasts are converted into production plans and material requirements while complying with quality and safety standards of the food & beverage industry.
Key Responsibilities
Develop daily / weekly / monthly production plans based on sales forecast, inventory levels and capacity.
Coordinate with Purchase, Warehouse, Quality and Operations team to ensure timely availability of raw materials & packaging materials (bottles, cans, caps, labels etc.).
Monitor actual production vs. plan and take corrective action in case of deviations.
Allocate production batches to different production lines to optimize utilization and reduce downtime.
Track and maintain inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Prepare and update production planning MIS reports and dashboards on daily basis (production achievement, machine utilization, yield, scrap etc.).
Coordinate closely with the Maintenance team for preventive maintenance schedules to avoid interruptions in production.
Ensure all planning activities comply with FSSAI standards, hygiene, and safety guidelines for water / beverage manufacturing.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce wastage, increase efficiency and improve planning accuracy.
Liaise with logistics/dispatch team for delivery scheduling and fulfilment.
Support new product trials, changeover planning, and batch formulation planning.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of production planning and material requirement planning (MRP).
Understanding of water treatment / beverage manufacturing process & industry standards.
Good analytical and numerical ability.
Proficient in MS Excel / ERP / Production Management software.
Ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering / Food Technology or equivalent.
0-2 years of experience in Production Planning in Water / Food & Beverage / FMCG industry.
Knowledge of FSSAI standards / ISO / HACCP is an added advantage.
