Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Planning Engineer
to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production planning, material requirement planning (MRP), and capacity planning to meet customer demands and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on order priorities, machine capacity, manpower availability, and material stock.
Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores, and Production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and drawings.
Analyze production capacity and identify bottlenecks; suggest improvements for optimal utilization of machines and manpower.
Monitor progress against the production plan and take corrective actions to address delays or deviations.
Create and track job cards, material issue slips, and production orders.
Maintain accurate records of production data, daily output, and stock consumption using ERP or planning tools.
Plan and manage buffer stock based on lead times, reorder levels, and seasonal demand trends.
Collaborate with Quality and Dispatch teams to ensure on-time delivery with quality compliance.
Conduct weekly planning review meetings and present production vs. plan reports to the Plant Head and Management.
Assist in cost control and reduction by optimizing production scheduling and minimizing idle time.
Key Skills Required:
Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes (metal, modular furniture preferred).
Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multi-shift planning and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and coordination skills across departments.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement is a plus.
Qualifications:
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in a similar planning role in a manufacturing setup.
