Job Description

We are a growing export manufacturer specializing in high-skill handmade bags (embroidery, crochet, leather). We are looking for a highly organized

Production Merchandiser

to take full ownership of our order lifecycle--from costing to final dispatch.

This is a key operational role. You will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, cost control, and ensuring our sampling team delivers on strict timelines. We need a controller who can manage the "Time & Action" calendar to ensure 100% on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities



1. Production Planning & T&A Management



Goal:

Ensure 100% on-time delivery for all assigned orders.

Action:

Create detailed

Time & Action (T&A) Calendars

for every order. Monitor daily progress against the schedule. If a delay occurs (fabric, labor, or vendor issues), you must proactively adjust the workflow to recover the timeline immediately.

2. Cost Estimation & Margin Protection



Goal:

Ensure actual production costs align with approved estimates.

Action:

Prepare accurate

Bill of Materials (BOM)

and

Pre-Production Cost Sheets

before quoting. You must accurately calculate fabric consumption, wastage, and labor hours to protect company margins. Track actual spending during production to prevent cost overruns.

3. Supply Chain & Vendor Coordination



Goal:

Ensure seamless production flow with zero material delays.

Action:

Coordinate with raw material suppliers and embroidery clusters. Ensure all fabrics, trims, and inputs are sourced, checked, and available in the factory

3 days before

the scheduled production start date.

4. Sampling & Product Development Execution



Goal:

Achieve weekly sampling targets with high efficiency.

Action:

Manage the daily workflow of the sampling room. Ensure Masterjis and tailors have clear Tech Packs and materials ready to ensure high productivity. Drive the team to hit a target of

4 finished, high-quality samples per week

.

Core Requirements (Must Haves)

Industry Experience:

Minimum 3 years working in an

Export House

or

Buying House

environment (experience in boutique/retail only is notsufficient).

Technical Costing:

Must be able to create Pre-Production Cost Sheets independently.

Excel Proficiency:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas for costing and T&A tracking) is

mandatory

.

Product Knowledge:

Solid technical understanding of garment/bag construction, fabric consumption, and embroidery time-studies.

Education:

Diploma or Degree in Fashion Technology (e.g., NIFT, Pearl) or Apparel Production is preferred.
