Position :Production Manager - Nanocrystalline Core Manufacturing
Summary
The Production Manager will oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations for nanocrystalline magnetic cores, ensuring consistent product quality, efficient production flow, and adherence to safety and industry standards. This role requires strong experience in soft magnetic materials, ribbon casting/annealing processes, precision core winding, and high-volume manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Operations Management
Lead daily production activities for nanocrystalline core manufacturing--including ribbon processing, annealing, cutting, winding, coating, and testing.
Develop and maintain production schedules to meet delivery targets and optimize machine utilization.
Monitor process KPIs (yield, OEE, scrap rate, cycle time) and implement continuous improvement plans.
2. Process & Quality Control
Ensure manufacturing processes follow established SOPs, ISO/TS quality standards, and customer specifications.
Work closely with Quality Engineering to investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Optimize critical processes such as:
Rapid solidification / ribbon casting
Stress-relief annealing
Core stacking, toroidal winding, and impregnation
3. Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor operators, technicians, and shift supervisors.
Conduct skill-based training for process handling, equipment safety, and quality awareness.
Lead shift planning, workforce allocation, and performance evaluations.
4. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination
Oversee proper functioning of equipment such as induction furnaces, annealing ovens, slitting machines, winding machines, and testing instruments.
Collaborate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshooting.
Evaluate opportunities for automation and equipment upgrades.
5. Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, hazardous material handling (e.g., special alloys), and environmental regulations.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for high-temperature and high-magnetic-field operations.
6. Supply Chain & Inventory Management
Coordinate with procurement for raw materials (nanocrystalline ribbon, insulating tapes, binders, etc.).
Maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce material wastage.
Ensure accurate documentation of material usage and batch traceability.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in magnetic core manufacturing
, preferably nanocrystalline or amorphous metal cores.
Strong understanding of soft magnetic materials, thermal treatment processes, and magnetic testing standards.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP).
Leadership experience managing production teams.
