About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate

Production Manager

to oversee operations in our Chikankari workshop. This role requires a deep understanding of traditional hand embroidery techniques, artisan management, and production workflows. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of high-quality products while preserving the authenticity and craftsmanship of Chikankari.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Coordination

Develop and manage production schedules based on order volumes and deadlines. Allocate tasks to artisans and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.

Quality Control

Implement and maintain quality standards specific to Chikankari embroidery. Conduct regular inspections and provide feedback to artisans.

Team Management

Supervise and support a team of karigars (artisans), supervisors, and helpers. Resolve conflicts and ensure a positive working environment.

Inventory & Resource Management

Manage raw materials, threads, fabrics, and tools inventory. Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.

Client & Vendor Coordination

Liaise with designers, clients, and vendors to align production with expectations. Provide updates on order status and address any concerns.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of production output, artisan performance, and quality checks. Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management review.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in textile or handicraft production management (preferably Chikankari or similar hand embroidery). Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines efficiently. Familiarity with traditional embroidery techniques and artisan workflows. Basic knowledge of inventory and production software is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

Passion for preserving traditional crafts. Ability to communicate in local languages (e.g., Hindi, English) Experience working with artisan communities.
