The diversity of our talents is what makes our work environment multicultural, innovative and highly rewarding.About the Role:As the Production Manager, you will take full ownership of the Production unit performance, focusing on optimizing quality, quantity, and cost-effectiveness. You'll be the go-to person for all activities related to developing and improving production processes within your area. Your role will also involve promoting safety, food safety, continuous improvement, and fostering the growth and development of your team.Main Responsibilities:Production Management:

  • Prepare weekly shift-wise production plans.
  • Ensure weekly compliance with quantity and SKU indicators.
  • Participate in daily production and SIM meetings; review production, scrap, and manpower details.
  • Conduct internal cross-functional audits; prepare audit reports and submit to Food Safety department.
  • Assess weekly machine and manpower efficiencies; review monthly production and scrap trends.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environment, food regulations, and legislation.
  • Maintain production quality standards.
  • Follow safety standards; encourage reporting of near misses.
  • Optimize use of company resources for best operating costs.
Budget:
  • Collaborate on UGP Maintenance Budget preparation and management.
  • Identify investment needs for UGP Plants with RdM and Maintenance Manager.
  • Prepare production budget with Local Production Planning support.
  • Prepare general expenditure budgets for UGP unit.
  • Cooperate on UGP energy budget preparation and management with Utilities Manager.
Quality:
  • Ensure product quality and compliance with work instructions as per Quality specifications.
Security and Hygiene:
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations in UGP Area and common areas.
Personnel Management:
  • Coordinate and plan activities of direct co-workers.
  • Support long- and short-term labor planning.
  • Define targets for self and co-workers as per PS guidelines.
  • Develop meritocratic plans for UGP personnel; discuss with Plant and HR Managers.
  • Evaluate UGP personnel with RTO/RDL contribution.
  • Develop expertise of direct co-workers.
  • Manage absenteeism through appropriate actions.
  • Define learning and development plans for team members.
  • Promote proper communication through line managers.
  • Motivate and train workforce to achieve individual and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure workplace security in area of competence.
Maintenance:
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance to increase machine uptime.
  • Set priorities in maintenance interventions; update maintenance plans with RdM and Maintenance Manager support.
Production System Development:
  • Promote, quantify, authorize, and implement improvement initiatives with SSP support.
  • Actively involve in 5S/mico/Fox projects; prepare action plans for audit findings.
Who we are looking for:
  • Educational Background: You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering / Food Technology, with at least 8 to 15 years of experience in the FMCG sector, particularly in chocolate manufacturing.
  • Technical Expertise: You need to be well-versed in raw materials, production processes, technological aspects, quality control, cost management, and other techniques to maximize effective manufacturing.
  • Business Acumen: A solid understanding of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: You should have the ability to motivate, develop, and direct people proactively and positively, identifying the best individuals for each role.
  • Time Management & Communication: Strong time management and communication skills are crucial, especially in a multicultural environment.
  • Performance Monitoring: You should be capable of monitoring individual and process performance to make improvements or take corrective actions.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: The ability to coach, mentor, teach, and guide employees is important, along with demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: A basic understanding of the functioning of equipment in your area of responsibility is required.
