Exp: Min 10 years experience as Production Manager in Steel Pipe Manufacturing

Salary: As per Market Standard

Reports To: General Manager/Management Board

Job Summary:

The Production Manager oversees the entire manufacturing process of steel pipes, ensuring efficient production, high quality, and timely delivery. This role involves managing manpower, resources, schedules, and machinery to achieve production targets while maintaining safety, cost-efficiency, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:*

1. Production Planning & Execution*

Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily production activities to meet delivery targets.
Allocate resources (material, manpower, machinery) effectively to maximize productivity.
Monitor production metrics (output, downtime, rejection rates) and take corrective actions.
2. Quality Assurance*

Ensure products meet industry and customer quality standards (e.g., IS 1239, ASTM, API).
Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) department for testing and inspection.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities.
3. Process Optimization*

Continuously improve manufacturing processes (e.g., ERW, galvanizing, threading) to reduce waste, cost, and downtime.
Monitor machine performance and ensure preventive maintenance is carried out.
Adopt lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices on the shop floor.
4. Team Management*

Lead and supervise production staff, operators, and technicians.
Train and develop the team to improve skills and efficiency.
Maintain discipline, safety, and high morale among team members.
5. Inventory & Coordination*

Coordinate with the stores and procurement teams for raw materials and consumables.
Ensure proper material handling, stock management, and documentation.
Collaborate with other departments like Sales, Dispatch, Maintenance, and HR.
6. Safety & Compliance*

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory compliance (e.g., pollution control, fire safety).
Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and awareness programs.
Maintain records of safety incidents and drive a zero-accident culture.
Education:Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
Experience:5-10 years in steel pipe manufacturing (ERW/MS/SS pipes preferred)
