Job Title: Production Manager - Mechanical (OEM - Construction Equipment)
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing
processes in a construction equipment OEM environment. The role focuses on ensuring efficient
production of high-quality mechanical components and assemblies, meeting delivery deadlines,
optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Execution
? Develop and implement monthly, weekly, and daily production plans in alignment with sales
forecasts and customer requirements.
? Ensure timely availability of raw materials, tools, and manpower for smooth production.
? Monitor and control daily production activities to meet quantity and quality targets.
Process Optimization
? Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) to increase productivity and
reduce costs.
? Analyze process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions for better throughput and
efficiency.
? Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure strict adherence.
Team Management
? Lead, train, and motivate a team of supervisors, operators, and technicians.
? Allocate work schedules, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance to the team.
Quality & Compliance
? Work closely with the Quality department to ensure that all products meet defined specifications
and industry standards.
? Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions
(CAPA).
? Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards, safety norms, and company policies.
Inventory & Cost Control
? Monitor material consumption, reduce wastage, and control manufacturing costs.
? Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials and
components.
Maintenance & Equipment
? Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure all machines and equipment are in good
working condition and preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
? Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
? Postgraduate qualification in Operations/Industrial Management is a plus.
Experience:
? 7-12 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations in an OEM setup, preferably
in the construction equipment, heavy machinery, or automotive sector.
? Proven experience in managing production teams and mechanical assembly lines.
Skills:
? Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical assemblies, and fabrication
techniques.
? Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
? Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma.
? Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹99,000.00 per month
