Sri Kaliswari Packaging Pvt. Ltd. is a Sivakasi-based packaging manufacturer (food-packaging & recycled products). The plant focuses on sustainable/recyclable packaging solutions for B2B customers.
Role summary
You will lead all production operations -- from planning and scheduling to quality, safety, cost control and continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on manufacturing leadership in packaging (poly bags, printed bags, mono cartons, or containers), strong process discipline, experience with high-volume lines, and familiarity with food-contact or recyclable materials where applicable.
Key responsibilities
Production planning & execution
Create and execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans to meet customer SLAs and order schedules.
Ensure line balancing, proper manpower deployment and shift rosters.
Quality & compliance
Maintain product quality standards, first-pass yield, and coordinate with QC for incoming raw-material checks and finished-goods release.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards for food packaging and recyclable materials (FSSAI/food contact norms if applicable) and internal quality systems.
Cost, productivity & OEE
Drive OEE improvement, reduce scrap/wastage, control conversion cost per unit and optimize throughput.
Implement cost-down initiatives in raw material use, machine uptime and labor productivity.
Plant safety & housekeeping
Enforce safety protocols, PPE usage, fire & machine safety (important when working near fireworks or chemical processes in the group).
Run regular safety drills, audits and accident investigations.
Maintenance & equipment
Coordinate preventive maintenance and downtime reduction with engineering/maintenance team.
Lead new equipment installation, trials and scale-up for new SKUs.
People management
Lead production supervisors, shift leads and floor staff -- hire, train (on SOPs), appraise and build strong shop-floor culture.
Vendor & raw material coordination
Work with procurement to ensure raw-material quality, timely supply and vendor audits for packaging substrates and inks.
Continuous improvement & reporting
Implement Kaizen / 5S / Lean practices and run value-stream improvements.
Prepare daily/weekly production reports, KPIs and present to management.
Required experience & qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or Diploma with strong shop-floor experience. MBA is a plus.
8-15 years total manufacturing experience
; 5+ years in packaging production (polyfilm extrusion/printing/lamination/mono cartons/corrugated or food packaging preferred). Experience in Sivakasi packaging suppliers / competitors is a plus.
Proven track record improving OEE, reducing scrap and managing multi-shift factories.
Familiarity with ERP production modules, MS Excel and production reporting.
Certifications: Lean / Six Sigma / TPM preferred.
Skills & attributes
Strong leadership, communication and shop-floor coaching abilities.
Problem solving (root cause analysis), data-driven decision making.
Good knowledge of quality systems, statutory safety norms and environmental practices (waste & recycling).
Customer-facing orientation to support operations with sales and customer complaints.
