Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, CNC Grinding and VMC machines
. The role includes production planning, machine shop management, operator training, process optimization, and ensuring timely project delivery while maintaining high-quality standards and optimum cost.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Shop & Production Management
Supervise day-to-day machining operations on Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, CNC, and VMC machines.
Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Optimize utilization of machines, manpower, and tooling.
Operator Training & Development
Manage a team of Production & Quality Engineers.
Train and mentor machine operators in CNC/VMC programming and conventional machine operations.
Implement structured training programs to enhance productivity and skills.
Tooling & Quality
Select appropriate cutting tools and maintain machining accuracy.
Ensure quality control and compliance with metrology standards.
Decide the process flow complete with drawing system.
Cost & Process Improvement
Reduce cycle time/rework/idle time.
Drive cost reduction and process optimization initiatives.
Minimize downtime, reduce waste, and improve machining efficiency.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Procurement teams.
Prepare production reports and communicate targets to supervisors and operators.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
: Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
: 10-15+ years in a machine shop handling
Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, CNC, and VMC
.
Technical Skills
: CNC/VMC programming, tooling knowledge, machining processes, and quality control.
Leadership Skills
: Team handling, operator training, and production supervision.
Problem-Solving
: Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes.
Communication
: Strong coordination skills with internal teams and vendors.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to high-precision machining projects.
Experience in production planning and cost optimization in machine shop environments.
