Production & Technical Operations Manager (Solar On-Grid Inverters)

About the Role
The Production & Technical Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the end-to-end production, quality control, service operations, R&D, and technical support for solar on-grid inverters.
This role demands a strong technical background, deep problem-solving skills, and leadership to ensure seamless manufacturing, efficiency improvement, and innovation in inverter technology.
The candidate will play a key role in ensuring high production standards, continuous innovation, and seamless product operations, positioning the company as a market leader in the solar inverter industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management & Optimization
1. Oversee and manage the daily production process for solar on-grid inverters from raw material procurement to finished product dispatch.
2. Develop, implement, and optimize production workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
3. Ensure adherence to production schedules, deadlines, and quality benchmarks.
4. Resource planning & management - Allocate manpower, machines, and materials effectively to maintain smooth operations.
5. Supervise shop floor activities, ensuring that production teams follow operational procedures and safety protocols.
6. Work closely with procurement teams to ensure the availability of quality raw materials and components without delays.
7. Implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve overall productivity and minimize downtime.
8. Maintain comprehensive production documentation for internal audits, process improvements, and compliance requirements.
9. Conduct periodic production audits and troubleshooting sessions to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
2. Quality Control & Assurance
1. Establish and implement robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure defect-free production.
2. Conduct rigorous quality checks at every stage--raw materials, production, assembly, and final testing--to maintain high standards.
3. Maintain and update Quality Control (QC) documentation to comply with internal and external audits.
4. Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
5. Work closely with the engineering and R&D teams to resolve recurring quality issues and enhance product reliability.
6. Ensure compliance with government regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
7. Develop a continuous improvement plan to drive Six Sigma & Kaizen methodologies for quality enhancements.
3. Service & After-Sales Support Management
1. Manage and oversee the service & repair department for solar inverters ranging from 1KW to 250KW, focusing on high-capacity models.
2. Ensure quick turnaround times for repairs and technical support requests to maintain customer satisfaction.
3. Supervise testing procedures after repairs to ensure full functionality before returning the unit to customers.
4. Develop and document best practices for troubleshooting and repair processes to streamline service operations.
5. Act as a technical escalation point for critical inverter failures and provide real-time solutions.
6. Implement a data-driven approach to analyze service issues and reduce future failures through proactive measures.
7. Coordinate with CRM & customer support teams to ensure smooth communication between technical and non-technical departments.
4. Research & Development (R&D) and Innovation
1. Lead all R&D initiatives related to solar on-grid inverters, focusing on product innovation, efficiency improvements, and new feature development.
2. Analyze failure trends and conduct root cause analysis to enhance product durability and reliability.
3. Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing of new inverter models before mass production.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition of new products from development to production.
5. Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in the solar inverter industry and implement cutting-edge improvements.
6. Work on firmware and hardware enhancements to improve product efficiency and adaptability.
7. Implement AI-based monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions for future inverter models.
5. New Product Development & Tools Engineering
1. Manage end-to-end new product development cycles, from concept to production rollout.
2. Collaborate with design, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product development.
3. Develop and integrate customized tools and testing equipment to improve inverter manufacturing and maintenance.
4. Ensure seamless coordination with vendors, suppliers, and third-party service providers for new product integration.
6. Technical Support & Training
1. Provide expert-level technical support to internal teams, including:
Sales team - Assist with technical presentations and customer inquiries.
Service team (CRM department) - Guide troubleshooting and technical issue resolution.
Purchase team - Ensure the right technical components are procured.
On-site service engineers - Support them with complex on-field technical issues.
2. Conduct training programs & workshops to upskill internal teams on technical advancements.
3. Develop and maintain technical documentation & user manuals for better knowledge transfer.
4. Act as a bridge between R&D and field teams to ensure real-world insights contribute to product improvements.
7. Compliance, Inspections & Audit Management
1. Ensure government and third-party inspections are conducted seamlessly, maintaining compliance with legal and industrial standards.
2. Maintain comprehensive inspection documentation and coordinate with regulatory authorities.
3. Lead internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO, BIS, and other relevant certifications.
4. Address and rectify compliance issues to maintain a smooth production and distribution process.
8. Electrical Work & Factory Maintenance
1. Oversee factory electrical system maintenance, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted production environment.
2. Provide technical assistance and hands-on support for electrical troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
3. Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize machinery breakdowns and maximize uptime.

Qualifications & Experience:
1. Education: Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Engineering.
2. Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in solar inverter production, service, quality control, and R&D.
3. Experience working with high-capacity solar inverters (1KW to 250KW) is a strong advantage.
