will oversee IOL (Intraocular Lens) and ophthalmic medical device production operations. Candidates with
experience in CNC Lathe machines used in medical device or precision component manufacturing
will be
preferred/considered
. The role includes supervision of production teams, ensuring compliance with
GMP & ISO 13485
, and maintaining high precision standards required for IOL manufacturing.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Production Operations
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across IOL manufacturing lines.
Oversee
CNC Lathe operations
including:
Lathe cutting of lens blanks
Surface finishing
Parameter setting & fine adjustments
Tool wear monitoring
Process optimization
Monitor polishing, milling, haptic attachment, inspection, packing & sterilization processes.
Achieve daily/weekly/monthly production targets.
B. CNC Machine Handling
Set up and operate
CNC Lathe machines
for high-precision medical device components.
Modify offsets, change tools, and adjust cutting parameters for accuracy & surface finish.
Troubleshoot CNC issues to avoid downtime.
Ensure first-piece approval with QC before batch production.
Handle PMMA, Hydrophobic, Hydrophilic materials and soft polymer machining.
C. Quality & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to
ISO 13485, CE, GMP
standards.
Conduct in-process quality checks for dimensions, surface quality, and tolerances.
Coordinate with QA/QC for deviation handling, CAPA, NCR.
Maintain documentation of machine parameters, logs, and batch reports.
D. Team Leadership
Guide and supervise CNC operators, technicians, and production staff.
Train team members on SOPs, CNC handling, safety, and cleanroom protocols.
Ensure discipline and manpower allocation across shifts.
E. Maintenance & Process Control
Monitor preventive maintenance schedules for CNC machines.
Coordinate with maintenance team for breakdown resolution.
Optimize tools, fixtures, and process flows for efficiency.
F. Cleanroom & Safety Compliance
Ensure production is conducted in
Class 100 / 1000 cleanroom environments
.
Monitor environmental controls (temperature, humidity, particle count).
Ensure proper PPE usage and safety compliance.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
Strong experience in
CNC Lathe machine operations
(medical device or precision engineering).
Understanding of IOL manufacturing or precision polymer machining.
Knowledge of
ISO 13485 documentation & regulatory compliance
.
Team management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read technical drawings, tolerances, and process sheets.
Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP/MIS).
4. Qualification & Experience
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Biomedical or similar
