Job Title:

Production Manager - Steel Plant

Location:

Koshi, Mathura

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the end-to-end steel production operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization, adherence to production schedules, quality compliance, and continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and oversee daily and monthly production activities to meet targets in terms of quantity, quality, and cost. Supervise operations across key production units such as:

Melting (Induction Furnace, EAF)

Continuous Casting Machine (CCM)

Rolling Mills (TMT, structural, flat products, wire rods)

Heat Treatment / Surface Treatment Units

Analyze production performance and implement corrective measures to eliminate bottlenecks, downtime, and process deviations. Ensure adherence to quality standards (IS/ASTM/EN), process parameters, and customer specifications. Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Logistics, and EHS departments for smooth production flow. Implement production schedules and manage labor, shift allocation, and machinery utilization. Drive improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma. Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations. Monitor and control raw material consumption, energy usage, and yield improvement. Develop and mentor production supervisors, engineers, and workforce for skill enhancement and team performance. Prepare and present production MIS reports and KPIs to senior management.

Key Requirements:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, or Industrial Engineering. A postgraduate degree is an advantage. 8-15 years of experience in steel plant operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
