Summary

A Production Manager in an aerospace manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing aircraft or aerospace component production, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality compliance while managing teams and resources.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

: Plan, coordinate, and supervise the entire manufacturing process of aircraft or aerospace components, from raw materials to final assembly. Influential knowledge into 5 axis Programming and Process and Methods Engineering

Quality Assurance

: Ensure strict adherence to aerospace industry standards (such as AS9100) and regulatory requirements.

Team Management

: Lead and train production staff, assign tasks, and monitor performance.

Scheduling & Planning

: Develop production schedules aligned with project deadlines and customer requirements.

Resource Allocation

: Manage budgets, materials, and equipment to optimize production efficiency.

Process Improvement

: Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and increase productivity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

: Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality departments to resolve issues and streamline operations.

Safety Compliance

: Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with aerospace safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or industrial engineering; advanced degrees or certifications in production management are a plus.

Experience

: 5-10 years in aerospace or advanced manufacturing, with proven leadership in production environments.

Technical Knowledge

: Familiarity with aerospace materials, manufacturing processes (CNC machining, composites, assembly), and ERP/MRP systems.

Soft Skills

: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities.

Certifications

: Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or AS9100 quality management knowledge is highly valued.
