Sky Gold & Diamond LTD is looking for a highly experienced
Production Manager
from the
jewellery manufacturing industry
, capable of leading production operations, managing teams, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality jewellery pieces. The candidate must have strong technical, managerial, and process-control expertise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Plan and schedule jewellery production as per daily/weekly/monthly targets.
Coordinate with design, CAD, CAM, casting, setting, polishing, and QC teams.
Ensure timely completion of orders with zero delays.
2. Manufacturing Operations Management
Oversee the complete end-to-end jewellery production lifecycle:
Optimize workflow for maximum efficiency and minimum wastage.
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Quality & Process Control
Maintain high-quality standards for gold and diamond jewellery.
Monitor finishing, stone setting, weight accuracy, and overall product quality.
Coordinate with the QC team for corrective actions and rework.
4. Team Leadership & Supervision
Manage a large team of karigars, artisans, supervisors, and technical staff.
Ensure skill development, discipline, performance tracking, and team motivation.
Create a productive and safe working environment.
5. Material & Inventory Management
Ensure availability of materials like gold, diamonds, gemstones, soldering material, and auxiliaries.
Track gold movement, usage, and wastage with accurate reporting.
Coordinate with purchase & stores department for material requirements.
6. Cost Optimization & Productivity Improvement
Reduce production cost while maintaining quality.
Drive productivity improvements, reduce rework, and manage labour efficiency.
Control gold loss through strict process monitoring.
7. Coordination with Other Departments
Work closely with HR, Design, Sales, Purchase, Accounts, and QC teams.
Manage production priorities based on sales requirements.
8. Compliance, Safety & Reporting
Ensure safety protocols are followed inside the production area.
Maintain production logs, DPR, wastage reports, gold accounting, and output reports.
Present production performance to management regularly.
Candidate Requirements
Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
12-15+ years of experience in
jewellery manufacturing
(gold & diamond).
Strong knowledge of jewellery production processes & workflow.
Proven team management and leadership capabilities.
Ability to plan production, handle deadlines, and manage multiple teams.
Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Experience in lean manufacturing or process improvement is an added advantage.
