The Production Head will oversee the entire manufacturing process of HT (High Tension) cables, ensuring optimal production efficiency, quality, and safety in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications. This leadership role is responsible for planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of production operations, including extrusion, stranding, armoring, sheathing, and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Execution
Plan and schedule production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Ensure timely execution of manufacturing orders as per delivery schedules.
Monitor machine utilization, manpower deployment, and material availability.
2. Process & Quality Control
Ensure strict adherence to HT cable manufacturing (as per IS/IEC standards).
Coordinate with the (QC) team to resolve quality issues at all production stages.
Implement process improvements and documentation for internal/external audits.
3. Team Management & Supervision
Lead the production team, including shift supervisors, engineers, and operators.
Allocate manpower and resources effectively across shifts to ensure smooth operations.
Conduct regular performance reviews and training programs for skill development.
4. Cost Control & Efficiency
Monitor production costs and take initiatives to reduce waste, downtime, and rework.
Optimize usage of raw materials like copper/aluminum conductors, XLPE, PVC, etc.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed to reduce machine breakdowns.
5. Compliance & Safety
Enforce strict safety norms and ensure compliance with HSE guidelines in the plant.
Conduct safety drills and promote a culture of safety awareness on the shop floor.
6. Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with procurement, design, quality, maintenance, and logistics departments for seamless operations.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports for management review.
Provide data and support for internal and external audits (ISO, BIS, customer audits, etc.).

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in HT cable manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Knowledge of Standards:
IS 7098, IEC 60502, BIS, and other relevant cable manufacturing standards
Skills:
o Strong leadership and communication skills
o Sound knowledge of cable production machinery and processes
o Familiar with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
Preferred Attributes:
Prior experience working in a BIS-certified and ISO 9001/14001/45001 environment.
Exposure to EHV (Extra High Voltage) cable production is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willing to work flexible hours based on production demands.
