The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of handling large production floors, meeting delivery deadlines, maintaining quality, and optimizing efficiency across various processes including cutting, stitching, printing, washing, and finishing.
Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Execution
Create and implement monthly and weekly production plans based on order booking and delivery timelines.
Allocate production styles efficiently across lines and shifts.
Monitor WIP, line output, and resolve production bottlenecks proactively.
Operations Management
Oversee and manage all production departments: cutting, stitching, finishing, printing, washing, and packing.
Ensure optimal use of machinery, labor, and materials to achieve productivity and cost targets.
Coordinate with merchandising and procurement teams for material availability and order sequencing.
Quality Control
Ensure strict quality standards are maintained throughout the production cycle.
Identify quality issues early through in-line audits and collaborate with the QC team to minimize rejections.
Implement process improvements to reduce defects and rework.
Manpower & Team Management
Lead and manage a team of floor managers, supervisors, line leaders, and workers.
Conduct skill training, manpower planning, and performance reviews.
Promote a culture of discipline, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Cost Control & Efficiency
Monitor daily efficiency (UAA, SAMs) and take corrective actions to achieve targets.
Analyze production costs and reduce wastage, idle time, and overtime.
Work with the Industrial Engineering team for time and motion studies, line balancing, and productivity improvements.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly production reports with management.
Maintain compliance with buyer standards, audits, and safety protocols.
Ensure adherence to legal and labor requirements in the factory.
Key Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Textile Technology, Apparel Production, or Industrial Engineering.
10 to 15 years of experience
in garment manufacturing, preferably in woven/casual shirts or kidswear.
Strong technical understanding of garment production processes and quality systems.
Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, line planning, and production MIS tools.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of 100-500+ workers.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
