Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly competent and experienced
Production Manager
to lead and manage production and plant operations within the food industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing
contract manufacturers
and working with
multinational companies
. This role requires a deep understanding of
food safety
,
quality systems
, and
audit compliance
. The candidate must be hands-on with day-to-day production, quality assurance, and team leadership, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Operations Management:
Oversee end-to-end production processes across internal and third-party manufacturing units.
Ensure timely production planning and execution in line with demand forecasts and business requirements.
Optimize plant performance by improving productivity, reducing downtime, and controlling manufacturing costs.
Contract Manufacturing Oversight:
Manage and coordinate with contract manufacturing partners to ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
Lead onboarding and evaluation of new third-party manufacturers as required.
Quality, Compliance & Audits:
Ensure adherence to national and international food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO, etc.).
Prepare and lead third-party, customer, and regulatory audits (e.g., FSSAI, FDA, ISO).
Drive continuous improvement in food quality and safety.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor production and plant teams to build a high-performance, safety-conscious culture.
Conduct training on SOPs, hygiene, safety, and quality protocols.
Process Optimization & Reporting:
Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and other operational excellence practices.
Monitor and report key production KPIs to senior management.

Bachelor's degree in

, or similar discipline (Master's preferred).
8+ years of relevant experience in the food or allied manufacturing sector, with proven success in managing
contract manufacturers
and plant operations.
Experience working with or for
multinational companies
in a regulated manufacturing environment.

food safety standards

regulatory requirements
.
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
